a change is going through the air
the trees feel it
the leaves feel it
even the smallest of the mice feel it
such a tiny difference but so large at the same time
Fall is coming
the slight chill of wind burns fingertips and noses
sweaters are pulled out from closets, a wave of nostalgia passes over as you smell the pumpkin spice and a sense of comfort
blankets are pulled over faces and socks hug shivering toes
that hat your grandma made you sits happily on your head
Fall is coming
cider seeps in through your lips, you’ve missed this
hay rides and corn mazes flash through your memory
it’s only a matter of time before it becomes reality
friends laugh, powdered sugar seen on the corners of their mouth and all over their chin
the possibilities seem endless as long as your under the autumn struck sun
Fall is coming
the day concludes and the moon peaks out from a long day of hiddenness
it glows a mysterious shade of orange as it illuminates your bed room
car horns and sirens replace the bird songs
leaves crunch although it’s the dead of night
a breath escapes your lips and you sink into the mattress of your bed and you know
Fall is coming
