It’s 2026, and a lot is happening before we get to 2027. We have FIFA, the Winter Olympics, the Super Bowl, the Great Meme Reset, and the Moon Eclipse to look forward to! In all, 2026 is going to be really amazing, and make sure to read on to see all the details!
The Great Meme Reset
January 1, 2026
The Great Meme Reset is basically what the name is, but a little different. The day has already passed, but this is what people are doing to stop the spread on the internet of old memes, trying to get rid of brain rot on social media. Hopefully it works, and we don’t have brainrot and other things like that, like 61 or 67.
The Super Bowl
February 8, 8:30-10:30
For all those Football lovers, we of course have the Super Bowl on February 8, 2026! The kickoff is at 6:30 pm, and it will be held at Levi’s Stadium in Santa Clara, California. The game will end at 10 to 10:30, depending on the game. Bad Bunny, Green Day, Charlie Puth, and Vrandia Carlile will perform in the halftime show, which will be really cool and sick. Also, rumors are that Taylor Swift will be featured, but we will have to see! Fun fact: This is the 60th anniversary of the Super Bowl.
Winter Olympics
February 6 – 22
The Winter Olympics are going to be great. It’s the Olympic competition of the world’s greatest winter athletes, so they do all winter sports like skiing, snowboarding, sledding, and hockey. Some of the countries competing include Austria, Canada, Finland, France, Great Britain, Hungary, Italy, Norway, Poland, Sweden, Switzerland, and the United States. I don’t know about you guys, but I’m rooting for our United States! It will be 17 days of incredible athletes competing in cold, wintery fun! The games will take place in Italy. You can watch all the games on NBC, USA Network, CNBC, and stream on Peacock. Fun fact: The Winter Olympics are not held every year, but only every four years, like the (more well-known) summer Olympics.
FIFA
June 11 – July 19
First, the FIFA World Cup is coming up, which is going to be a banger. For those who don’t know, FIFA is a soccer championship, and all the qualifying teams compete. Then once a team wins, they face another team, and they keep going until they lose or they beat all the teams, and they win. Matchups are being held in Canada, Mexico, and the United States. You can watch it on Fubo TV, YouTube TV, Sling TV, Peacock, Hulu, and just plain old live TV on NBC. You won’t want to miss it. It’s going to be so much fun to watch. Fun Fact: FIFA only happens once every 4 years and has a lot of historic, cultural, and traditional fun to it.
Red Moon Eclipse
September 7
The Red Moon Eclipse is also going to happen in 2026. Also, only half the world can see it, which is really cool if you think about it, because the entire world can see the moon, but during this event, only half of the world can. This happens because the Earth makes it look like the moon and the sun are overlapping each other, and it looks as if the moon is red. Also, the moon the day is going to be a full moon, making an even cooler moment. Fun Fact: There is only a 28.8 percent chance that we will be able to see it.
Conclusion
In conclusion, 2026 is going to be a great year with so many amazing events to come. But there’s more to come that I don’t have time to tell you about. Go check out how they’re making another Avatar movie (The Last Airbender), or how it’s America’s 250th anniversary of independence. In all, there are so many things that are happening, so I hope you enjoy them all and make sure to have a good year. Which one are you most excited about?
