Have you wondered which places are visited the most in the United States? Well, this summer, you should plan your next trip to these popular destinations: Las Vegas, Nevada; Washington, D.C.; Millennium Park, Illinois; Walt Disney World Resort, Florida; and Golden Gate Park, California. Please note: I did not include New York, NY, as it was recently covered in a prior edition of Falcon Press.
Las Vegas, NV. Specifically, the Las Vegas Strip. The Strip is an area of highly-rated restaurants, attractions, and hotels that 42 million people visited in 2025-2026. It may be crowded, but it is definitely worth the wait. The Strip became famous in the 1940’s when its first casinos and resorts opened. However, since then, it’s expanded with many more attractions, such as shows, concerts, venues (like the famous gigantic, globe-shaped Sphere venue), shops, and museums.
Washington D.C. As the capital of the United States, this famous city had about 27 million visits in 2024. The city has many national landmarks, such as the White House and the Lincoln Memorial. Some worth visiting are the National Mall, the J.F.K. Performing Arts Center, and the Washington Monument. It also dedicates significant resources to the performing arts, spending more per capita than any other place in the United States. In addition, there are many museums. All in all, the capital deserves to be high on the list.
Millennium Park, IL. Millennium Park has no entry fee and has 25 million visitors a year. It is 25 acres of ”world-class green space.“ The park has many art and music festivals. The park also has many relaxing areas. In addition, there are multiple activities every single week. With free Wi-Fi and structures like Cloud Gate, Crown Fountain, and Pritzker Pavilion, it would be a great place to visit during our teenage years.
Walt Disney World Resort, FL. Walt Disney World is a 25,000-acre area filled with theme parks. You can visit EPCOT, Magic Kingdom, and Animal Kingdom from the resort. The resort has about 18 million guests per year, and the theme parks have 50 million guests. Magic Kingdom is mainly for younger kids, but EPCOT was created to be futuristic. Hollywood Studios is for learning how the parks started, and Animal Kingdom is focused on saving the wildlife.
Golden Gate Park, CA. The park has 1,017 acres with 24 million people visiting each year. The park has many museums, but the main attraction is actually not the Golden Gate Bridge. The real main attraction is the de Young Museum, which is a museum that features the fine arts. The de Young Museum is part of a collection of museums called the Fine Arts Museums of San Francisco (FAMSF).
In conclusion, these places are famous and get lots of visits for a good reason. The Las Vegas Strip has many casinos and resorts. The Capital lives up to its name by having lots of U.S. history behind it. Millennium Park is full areas for relaxation and visual art. Walt Disney World Resort is home to some of the most famous theme parks on earth. Finally, Golden Gate Park has many attractions that are very famous. Be sure to have a plan if you visit to make sure you see everything you want!
