Do you want to watch a movie or a show, but don’t have a clue what to watch? Well, this article will help you find movies to binge this weekend. Stay tuned for some awesome PG-13 (or under) movie reviews!
Wicked: For Good
Wicked: For Good is in the top movie charts, and with good reason. Wicked for Good is a prequel to Wicked, which was made into a movie but was first a Broadway show. These movies were based on The Wizard of Oz, which was debuted in 1939. The message of the original movie has themes of power and strength. In the movie the characters all need something, but by the end, they all learn that their flaws are beautiful. When Broadway made that movie into the famous musical, it focused on the witches, Elphaba and Glinda, and their relationship through friendship and betrayal. The movie is similar. Wicked: For Good focuses on the origins of the other characters of The Wizard of Oz, such as the Tin Man, the Cowardly Lion, and the Fierce Scarecrow. Elphaba is seen as a mean, wicked witch, and Glinda seems like a goddess, but in part one, they were friends. However, the story turns, making Elphaba seem like a villain. This is a highly recommended movie, but to truly understand, it’s best to first watch Wicked.
Zootopia 2
Zooptopia 2 is the sequel to the first Zootopia movie, which also is a fun watch! Zootopia has themes of different kinds of animals coexisting peacefully. This is reflective of how people can coexist, even with differences in religion, race, and other areas. It is very inspiring for children because they need to learn how to communicate and behave with others in real-world situations. The main characters in this movie are Judy Hopps, a rabbit, and Nick Wilde, a fox. Both of them work together to solve a case, just like in the first movie. This movie is mainly recommended for younger audiences, but is suitable for all ages. It would be a great family movie night option!
The Super Mario Galaxy Movie (Coming Soon!)
The Super Mario Galaxy movie hasn’t actually come out yet, but I had to mention it! It is going to be a really cool movie because it is the sequel to The Super Mario Brothers movie. In this movie, Mario goes to space and travels to different galaxies. He meets new characters and has to save the universe from danger, which makes it very exciting. I liked how, in the trailer, the planets were colorful and fun, and the space theme made it different than the other Mario stories. Overall, The Super Mario Galaxy movie seems like it will be fun, adventurous, and enjoyable to watch, especially if you like Mario games. You can’t binge on it this weekend, but it will be in theaters on April 1, 2026!
In conclusion, movies like Wicked: For Good, Zootopia 2, and The Super Mario Galaxy movie are great ways to pass the time. These movies have so many ideas that make their plots exciting, in addition to interesting, relatable characters and important messages that make them stand out over others. Which ones will you check out?
