Technology is changing the classroom and we all know it. From the tiny things like Gmail keeping us up to date with the latest news to the workspaces like Canva and Google Workspace, which help us to spice up our book reports and essays, educational settings have changed. Here are some sites that are great for anyone in schools, whether you’re a teacher in dire need of making engaging lesson plans, or a student who wants to fulfill rubric expections, ir even one who wants to go above and beyond to add audio or video to your project.
Let’s start with Canva. It has creative templates in almost any style you can imagine. It also has many design options to choose from. Some formats include include Presentation, Doc, Whiteboard, Video, Email (new), Apparel, and Logos. Here’s an overview of each one and how you could use it in your classroom:
Presentation: A blank slate for all projects to blossom. Add unique audio and imagery with its AI functions. As a bonus, you can also create custom animations!
Doc: A blank document that has templates from basic fall to a restaurant menu!
Whiteboard: A blank page with infinite space. Drop Post–Its, images, and whatever else you need onto it.
Video: Let me guess. You have a video you need to do for a project, but when you film using your camera, it just doesn’t look good, and there’s no way to edit it. This solves it. Record audio, video, and your screen all in one place. You can then edit it to get it just the way you want it. Add AI music and images to get a unique scene, and use the stunning templates to bring it to the next level.
Email: Create a custom email, then send it with Gmail!
Apparel: Create t-shirts and pants with mock-ups to see how they would look in real life!
Logos: Create your own business logo for any project with tons of templates to choose from.
Another useful application is Adobe Express. Similar to Canva, it allows you to use many of the same functions. The templates vary and available content varies. For example, you can create stickers, photos, videos, design assets, backgrounds, text layouts, and webpage templates for many of the same purposes as for Canva. These options provide a wide range of project options.
Finally, a great classroom project application is Storyboard That. You can create engaging comics to convey your message with ease. It is fun to customize both settings and characters. It is extremely easy to navigate and very organized. Either enter present mode, or take screenshots and put them into a project on Canva, Adobe, Google Workspace, or other content creation sites.
Hopefully, this article will help you to add some flavor to your school projects. Even the slightest movement of your images, text, or other elements can keep your audience engaged and hanging on to your every word. So what content creation sites will you plan to use?
