Falcon Press: What was your reaction when you found out you were on the tour?
Miles Schmidt: It was so surprising and unexpected that I was in disbelief because it was the first show I’d ever booked. I was surprised and I immediately started thinking about the tour.
FP: What role/roles were you?
MS: I performed as part of the Ensemble and I was an understudy for the main role Michael.
FP: What inspired you to perform in the first place?
MS: When I was younger and lived in El Paso, Texas, Hamilton came out with their 4th of July special. I didn’t want to watch at first and was quite bored for the first few songs but then King George III came onstage. I immediately fell in love and he became my idol.
FP: What other shows have you been in?
MS: I have performed in different shows around the Morristown area like Matilda at MPAC , A Christmas Story, Spongebob the Musical, and most recently, Shrek at FMS where I played the role of Lord Farquaad.
FP: What shows and roles would you love to perform in?
MS: I really would like to perform as Pulitzer in Newsies, Ms.Trunchbull in Matilda and aspire to perform as King George III in Hamilton on Broadway.
As you can see, Miles, who has been into performing since a young age, is a very talented person and has taken a big step into his performing career by being on the National Broadway Elf Tour. Miles and his theatre career are just getting started!
