Have you ever wondered what our sixth-grade assistant principal Mrs. McBride is like? We interviewed her and this is what we learned!
Mrs. McBride’s Career in Education
Mrs. McBride has had an extensive career in education. She was the first person in her family to graduate college and get her master’s degree. Before she became an assistant principal, she was a teacher for seventeen years, and she wanted something new, so she became an assistant principal. She took on this role because she loves being around kids. She also appreciates the FMS teachers share this love of being around kids and thinks that they work hard to do their best for us students.
Mrs. McBride was the only Hispanic in her school growing up, and now, she appreciates the diversity at FMS. She has always loved being around students in their learning environment. She encourages students to ask for help. In fact, she advises students to “ask for help – you are not alone!” This means if you are struggling, please go see her and she will do her best to help you.
Mrs. McBride’s Life Outside of School
Mrs. McBride has many interests. Her favorite book is Winter Garden by Kristin Hannah. She loves romantic comedies, and her favorite movie is The Wedding Planner. Her favorite song is “I Wanna Dance With Somebody” by Whitney Houston.
Mrs. McBride also enjoys many activities. A perfect day for Mrs. McBride would be a day at the beach with her toes in the sand, reading a book, and barbeque after. In her free time, Mrs. McBride attends her son’s baseball games, and walks her dog Pandita, which means “little panda” in Spanish. She also enjoys going to her favorite restaurant, Tiff’s.
Mrs. McBride does so much for our sixth-grade academy, and she has many things in common with us too! The next time you see her, please be sure to say hi, and don’t forget that she’s always there for you, sixth-graders!
