How Dogs Affect You Mentally
Studies have shown that dogs can bring down stress levels, depression, loneliness, and anxiety! Along with that, dogs also lower your chances of heart disease, your heart rate and improve your all around health. Having a dog also gives you the ability to socialize more. At a dog park, on a walk, or anywhere you’re taking your furry friend could be a place to socialize. When you take your dog on a walk, it affects you mentally as well as physically. Getting more exercise by walking your dog can actually make you feel calm. This is because exercise is good for your brain and mental health.
Although they might bark, having a dog increases your happiness levels and dogs even help people to feel more bold and less shy. They can also make you more active and help you reach your fitness goals. So maybe next time you’re trying to decide on a new pet, choose a dog!
