Fun And Easy Summer Snacks

Summer is one of the best times of the year! No school, the hot sun, the pool, and hanging out with your friends! But, since we are home, there is not much to do. Here are some fun and easy delicious recipes to make at home!

***Please be aware! Some of these recipes do contain allergenic ingredients.***


  • Homemade Ice Cream
  • PB&J sushi rolls
  • Poppin’ Grapes
  • Chocolate Dipped Banana Bites
  • Granola Parfait

Homemade Ice Cream


  • 1 cup of half-and-half
  • 2 tablespoons of granulated sugar
  • ½ teaspoon of pure vanilla extract
  • 3 cups of ice
  • ⅓ cups of kosher salt
  • Toppings of your choice


  • Big resealable plastic bag
  • Small resealable plastic bag


Step 1: In a small resealable plastic bag, combine half-and-half(1 cup), sugar(2 tablespoons), and vanilla(½ teaspoon). Push out any excess air and seal.

Step 2: Into a large resealable plastic bag, mix ice(3 cups) and salt(⅓ cups). Place the small bag inside the bigger bag and shake vigorously, for 7 to 10 minutes, until the ice cream has hardened.

Step 3: Remove the small bag from a big bag after about 7-10 minutes, and enjoy with your favorite ice cream toppings!


Ellie–5/5 “It tasted like the ice cream you would get from scoop station! It was very light and flavorful!”

Avery–4.5/5 “It tasted like I just bought it out of an ice cream store! But, it did tend to get very cold, and melted within seven minutes. Otherwise, everything was amazing!”

PB&J Sushi Rolls


  • Peanut Butter
  • Jelly (Any kind!)
  • Slice of bread (Secpicficly White bread)


  • Knife
  • Cutting Board


Step 1: Cut off the crust of the bread. With a rolling pin or spoon, roll the bread out so it becomes flat.

Step 2: Spread the peanut butter and jelly on both sides of the bread.

Step 3: Roll the slice of bread tightly. After it is rolled, press it a bit to make sure the peanut butter and jelly dont come out.

Step 4: Lastly, cut the roll into 4 pieces and Enjoy!

Poppin’ Grapes


  • Grapes
  • Jolly ranchers
  • Pop rocks


  • Toothpicks


Step 1: Wash your grapes and make sure they are nice and clean!

Step 2: Sort jolly ranchers(optional) if you want each color to be the same color on each grape.

Step 3: Put the number of jolly ranchers of your choice in a microwave-safe bowl and place in the microwave for roughly 30-60 seconds.

Step 4: Put toothpicks in grapes

Step 5: Take melted jolly ranchers, and dip the grapes in them.

Step 6: Take the grape out of melted jolly ranchers and dip it into a bowl of pop rocks.

Step 7: Let the jolly ranchers settle onto the grape and make sure that the pop rocks aren’t falling off.


          Avery–3.5/5 “They were good, but some of the flvors on the grapes just didn’t taste good. We alse tended to accidentally burn the Jolly Ranchers, and that was not the best.”

        Ellie–3.5/5 “They were acceptable, but I would’t recommend mixing the flavors because it kind of ends up weird. But, otherwise they were okay.” 


Chocolate Dipped Banana Bites


  • Banana
  • Any chocolate of your choice
  • Any topping(s) of your choice


  • Toothpicks


Step 1: Slice bananas into bite-size pieces

Step 2: Freeze bananas for 24 hours.

Step 3: Melt chocolate in the microwave for 30-60 seconds.

Step 4: While the chocolate is in the microwave, take the bananas out of the freezer and put a toothpick in the middle of each one.

Step 5: Dip the bananas into the melted chocolate, then dip it into the topping(s) of your choice.

Step 6: Put in the freezer for another 1 hour.

Step 7: Take bananas out of the freezer and enjoy!

          Ellie–5/5 “They were so delicious! Anybody who likes chocolate covered things or just chocolate in general will absolutely adore this dish!”

Granola Parfait


  • Granola
  • Vanilla Yogurt
  • Fruit of your choice


  • Plastic or glass cup.
  • Spoon


Step 1: Get a plastic or glass cup.

Step 2: Put the yogurt in the cup. Fill it with about ⅕ of the cup.

Step 3: Put the granola on top of the yogurt. Fill another ⅕.

Step 4: Put the fruit on the granola.

Step 5: Put some more yogurt on the fruit. Fill it so there is still some space at the top!

Step 6: Put some granola on the yogurt till it fills the cup!

Step 7 (Optional): You can put caramel or chocolate drizzle on top.
