Have you ever wanted to play in our school band or know more about our music teachers? Well if you have, this article is for you. Mr. Beadle is our 7th and 8th grade band teacher. Let’s get to know him a little more.
Falcon Press: What got you into music?
Mr. Beadle: I always enjoyed music and when I saw the high school jazz band perform at my school, I knew I wanted to play an instrument.
FP: When did you start playing music?
MB: I started in 6th grade because there was no elementary school band.
FP: How long have you been teaching music?
MB: In high school, I taught private students but started teaching classes in 2005.
FP: What is your favorite song?
MB: It is hard to pick because I have had so many!
FP: What’s your favorite genre of music?
MB: Older country music.
FP: What was your first instrument?
MB: Trumpet in school.
FF: What college did you go to?
MB: University of Maryland and later I got a master’s degree.

MB: I started teaching in southern Maryland.
FP: Is there any specific music you like your students to play?
MB: “Of Gentle Spirit” because it’s the first song they play that’s nice and peaceful.
FP: How do you pick your concert music?
MB: It’s hard! I constantly go back and forth to find the right music.
FP: What helps you stay organized to prepare for concerts?
MB: I make sure at the end of each lesson the students learn a skill, and go over it to practice in class. I also don’t want to pick music that is too hard so it’s easier to learn it.
FP: What’s your favorite instrument?
MB: I like the sound of the french horn, the low clarinet, and the cello.
