With different moods and activities, come different types of music. If you are like me, I really like to listen to music while I am doing my homework. It relaxes me after a long day, but sometimes we all just need music to let out some dance moves.
Do you ever feel like you can’t focus or you just need to calm down? If so, I think you should listen to smooth jazz. This genre was invented by Grover Washington J. The key elements of smooth jazz are blues, syncopation (the concept of playing rhythms that accent or emphasize the offbeats), swing, and creative freedom. Did you know that smooth jazz is one of the youngest styles of dancing? When you listen to this music, it makes you feel so good, but most importantly it makes you so relaxed. I suggest you try this and see where it takes you. Here is a smooth jazz song that I love by Bill Withers called “Just the Two of Us.”
Fusion music is the type of music that gets your heart pumping and your blood running. This genre is when two different songs are combined to make one new creative song. Fusion music was invented by Larry Coryell. There are two key elements in fusion music which are Rock and Funk. It originated in the United States. I really like fusion music because it puts you in a happy mood and is energizing. I hope you enjoy it as much as I do. Here is a great song that you could listen to by Herbie Hanncock called “Chameleon.”
Make it your job today to listen to each one of these songs. You’ll really enjoy it, especially if you have a passion for music like I do. Remember that if you need to be relaxed, listen to smooth jazz and If you need to let out some dance moves, try some fusion music. Which one did you like better?
