Worst Movies of 2019

Drew Alexopoulos and Christian Giardina

Do you like movies? There have been many great movies so far in 2019 such as Avengers: Endgame or Aladdin. But that’s not what we’re here for. We’re here for the movies that made people sick. We’re here for the bad movies that left people confused or thinking, “Well that was a waste of my time.” The ones that got bad reviews. The ones that some people don’t even bother watching.

We should start with a list of what qualities most of the bad movies will have. Movies not worth watching have confusing plot lines, too many events or effects at one time, complicated parts that require a lot of explaining, random things that come out of nowhere, and jokes that aren’t funny.

The first movie on the list is Dumbo. I am a Disney fanatic and was very excited to see the latest entry, although I was quite disappointed by the slow beginning and the overdramatic ending that did not have a big enough emphasis on Dumbo being freed. It got a 46% on Rotten Tomatoes. The next movie is Ugly Dolls, which did not have very high standards from the start. Audience predictions were correct and the movie only received 30% Rotten Tomatoes. Another movie not worth seeing is Wonder Park, which only got a 33% on Rotten Tomatoes, because has a very weird plot where a girl’s imagination (which is pretty wild) comes to life. In addition, the Lego Movie 2 wasn’t great because it kept adding new conflicts and characters. It did get a decent review on Rotten Tomatoes, but it was extremely confusing and over the top with all of the new additions.

In the end, there have been some bad movies this year, but we’re only halfway through. There will be many more!!  So if you see one that you might like then go see it! Just remember that it might just be a flop.
