There are many ways that people live their lives. Veganism is when people do not or cannot eat any type of animal, or anything produced by an animal such as milk, eggs, and bacon. Soy foods such as soy nuggets and soy hot dogs are often alternatives to animal-based foods. Carbohydrates such as pasta are vegan because the main ingredient is either whole wheat or flour.

When people choose a vegan lifestyle, they can experience emotional changes. Some people have experienced depression and anxiety, but most people can handle it as their bodies regulate and as they find alternate sources of nutrition. Some people can handle the toughness of only eating vegetables. Salads are a great way to get veggies. The sad part is that some dressings such as Italian dressings, are not vegan. Balsamic vinegar is a great way to make the salad tastier, but still vegan. Do you think you could? On the other hand, people who are vegan get enough protein from things such as almond milk, and dairy-free yogurt. The bad side is that almond milk and dairy-free products are often expensive and hard to make. Many vegans also have to use vegan shampoo, and vegan items instead of just food.

If the United States was to practice a vegan lifestyle, it would be difficult. Making almond milk, and vegan substituted items, for the whole country will be tough. There might not be enough food for everyone. For instance, although most cereals are vegan, people usually have milk with their cereal. Vegan-substituted foods are disgusting to some people, but on the other hand, some people enjoy salads, and soy products. Babies might not even get enough nutrients, because some vegans do not breastfeed. Babies can end up dying from not having enough nutrients, and lactose-free formula is very expensive. What a challenge!

If you decide to try veganism, talk to your family and doctor. Start slowly, and maintain control of eating enough vegetables. People who go vegan generally lose a lot of weight, which can be good and bad. Losing too much weight can lead to death, but can also lead to a healthy immune system. It’s important to have a healthy balance. Have fun getting healthier, and losing weight, but if veganism is not for you don’t force yourself! Good luck!
