It’s approaching that time of year when the weather is warmer and summer plans are being made. While you might be thinking of beach trips and hanging with friends, a great way to spend your summer break is by contributing to your community. It may seem strange, but community service is very rewarding. Additionally, it looks good on resumes and applications. There are so many community service opportunities in the Morristown Area, read on to find ways you can help this summer.

  1.   Goodwill

Have you ever had an overflowing closet, or dresser? Why not do some cleaning and donating? If you have clothes that are way too small, or you never wear, donating them is a great way to help the community, and clean out your closet. They accept donations there or at designated donation centers. To learn more about Goodwill and how you can donate you can visit their website at https://www.goodwillnynj.org/.

  1.     Morris County Parks

The parks of Morristown are so beautiful and awesome. This is thanks to the work of the town and volunteers. There are many ways to volunteer through the town, or just help out. They have volunteer events and programs available. Additionally, while you’re at the parks a great way to  help out is to simply pick up trash. Litter in town parks isn’t good for the environment, so lend a hand and pick it up. To find out about volunteering opportunities and the parks visit the website, https://www.morrisparks.net/index.php/commission/volunteer/.

In conclusion, hopefully this article has inspired you to take action and do good this summer. Don’t forget that even small things are good, and every act of good is appreciated. These are just a few of the ways to contribute. Don’t forget to get your parents before you do any of these things. Have a (do) good summer!
